The Civil Space Paper

Privacy Policy

Policy version: October 9, 2026. Written from a check of this site's own code on October 9, 2026, and checked again each time the site is published.

Who we are

nationalspaceagencysrilanka.com ("the site") publishes The Civil Space Paper and is operated by MADITECH LLC ("MADITECH", "we", "us"), a private company based in Washington State, USA. It is not a government body. The site was built by Lucky Ranasinghe. Questions or requests about your information: [email protected].

Information you give us

The site has one form, the comment form in section 8 of the paper. When you send it, we receive:

The form also has a hidden field that people never see. It is there to catch automated spam and should always be empty. There is no phone number field and we do not ask for one.

Please do not enter sensitive information (for example health, financial or government ID details), or confidential information you are not free to share, in any field on this site.

If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if your email shows it, and whatever you write, and we use them to reply to you.

Where your information goes

When you send the form, the page sends the fields above over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to MADITECH's contact service (https://otdmiyepdyrclyhoingi.supabase.co/functions/v1/joey-contact). That service stores them in MADITECH's database, hosted by Supabase in the United States, and alerts Lucky Ranasinghe so he can reply: an email containing them, delivered through Resend to his inboxes hosted by Google, and a short text-message alert to Lucky (not to you) containing your name, your email address and possibly the start of your comment, delivered through Twilio or a mobile carrier's email-to-text service. We use it to read and answer your comment.

These service providers process the information for us to deliver those functions: Cloudflare (network delivery), Google (email inboxes), Resend (email delivery), Supabase (database hosting), Twilio (text-message alerts), mobile carriers (text-message alerts).

We use what you send only to reply about your comment, and to correct the paper if you point out an error. We do not add you to a mailing list.

How long we keep it

We keep comments for 24 months after our last contact with you, so we can answer you and keep a record of our conversation, and then we delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time. We will delete them from our database and inboxes and ask our service providers to delete their copies, except where we must keep a record to meet a legal, accounting or fraud-prevention obligation.

Information collected automatically

When your browser requests a page, the request reaches our hosting provider, Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). Like every web server, it receives your IP address, your browser's user agent and the address of the page requested, and uses them to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse, under its own privacy policy.

Pages on this site may also load Cloudflare Web Analytics (static.cloudflareinsights.com), which counts page views without cookies and receives your IP address and browser information when your browser fetches it. The site loads its font and scripts from nationalspaceagencysrilanka.com itself. Links to the sources in the paper take you to other websites, which have their own privacy practices.

We do not track you across other websites.

Cookies and browser storage

The site's own code sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie of its own when it needs to check for automated traffic.

We do not sell or share your information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use it for advertising at all. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to give you a copy, to correct it, or to delete it. Some US states, including California (CCPA as amended by the CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and Oregon, give residents rights like these by law, along with the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We give the rights above to everyone. We do not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.

If you are in Sri Lanka, you can use these rights under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act by emailing us; we will answer within the time that law requires.

To make a request, email [email protected] with "Privacy request" in the subject. We will confirm the request comes from you, usually by replying to the email address involved, and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why within that period and respond within 45 more days. You may use an authorized agent. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision; if we still decline, you can contact your state attorney general.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Where information is processed

MADITECH LLC is based in the United States. Information you send is processed in the United States and may be processed in other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to this policy

If the site starts collecting different information, this page changes with it. When the wording of the policy changes, the policy version date at the top changes too.
